Writing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a kid, if I was happy, sad, angry, or just bored, I'd grab a notebook and start writing. It didn't matter what the story was about. I just loved creating people, places, and worlds that only existed in my imagination.
People sometimes ask me why I write romance, and honestly, it's because I love, love. I love watching two people get to know each other, the conversations, the flirting, the little moments, and seeing their relationship grow over time. That's why I naturally write slow burns. I enjoy the journey just as much as the destination.
I also wanted my stories to mean something. I focus on writing Black love and showing Black women in a different light. I wanted to write stories that remind us softness isn't a weakness, it's a strength. We deserve to be loved gently, to be chosen, to be cared for, and to experience the kind of love that feels safe, genuine, and real.

My writing space and process
When I'm ready to write, I like to find a quiet place where I won't be distracted. I'll put on some soft music, make a cup of tea, grab my favorite pen and notebook, and that's where it all starts. Before I ever open my laptop, most of my stories begin on paper. There's just something about writing everything down by hand that helps me stay connected to the story. It slows me down in the best way and lets me really spend time with my characters.
Not every writing day looks the same, though.
If I'm working through a new idea or trying to figure out where a story is going, I usually don't force it. I'll sit quietly and just let my mind wander. I daydream a lot. Sometimes I'm in the car, taking a walk, or just sitting with a cup of tea, and I'll start imagining different conversations or wondering, "What would happen if...?" That's usually when the best ideas show up.
One thing that's always been true about the way I write is that I have to see the story before I can write it.
Everything plays out like a movie in my head. I can see the characters, the expressions on their faces, the way they're looking at each other, where they're standing, what's happening around them, even the little details that most people probably wouldn't notice. I'll replay a scene over and over until it feels right. Once I can see it clearly, writing it down becomes the easy part.
What I'm currently working on
One of the questions I get asked the most is, "What are you working on next?" So, I thought I'd give you a little update!
Right now, I'm working on a short story called After Hours. If you've been following me for a while, you'll know I enjoy writing stories that focus on emotional connection, and this one is no different. It's a workplace romance featuring Jules and Monique, two women who find themselves spending an unexpected evening together at the office. What starts as an ordinary workday quickly turns into something neither of them planned, and I can't wait for you to meet them.
I'm also planning my next full-length novel, which I'm hoping to release in 2027. It's still early in the writing process, so I'm keeping most of the details to myself for now, but I can tell you that I'm having a lot of fun bringing these characters to life. As the story comes together, I'll be sharing updates here, along with a few sneak peeks and behind-the-scenes moments.
One of my favorite parts of writing is watching an idea slowly become a finished book. It starts with a simple thought, grows into characters that feel real, and eventually becomes a story I get to share with all of you. I'm excited to let you be part of that process this time around.
